Our Stories
Chloe - Finance Assistant, Orchard LIVE.
“Got involved because my mam saw an advert in the newspaper (maybe the Ponty Observer) it was during February half-term 2011. Basically, she made me go because I hadn’t done anything during the half term and she knew I was interested in the music industry. It had a huge impact - made me look at it from a different perspective as I have zero musical talent and I hadn’t even really there were other roles out there for me”.
Colin - Freelance Musician and Videographer.
“I attended a gig hosted by YPN in December 2011. I met Spike Griffiths and expressed interest in joining the YPN and was in my first meeting by January 2012It had a great impact on me showing me experiences I would've never had without it. I got to present a Web show, I got to do lighting, I got backstage access at some high profile gigs, it was like living the dream! YPN allows us, the amateurs to get a chance to become the professionals.”
Richard - Marketing Manager, Orchard LIVE
“I got involved straight out of university, I had already had 5 years experience as a journalist and wanted to put on a gig but had no clue to go about it. I also was being turned down by employers for a lack of marketing experience, so I thought it would be a perfect opportunity to get some experience. The impact was huge! I learned skills and built contacts that I still use today. I set myself a goal to put one of my favourite bands on, inside my hometown venue. I achieved this when The Blackout performed at the Muni Arts Centre.”
